Not a lot has been happening during last week. We are staying at home as much as possible, with lots of work being done in the garden, around the house and in the kitchen. The big news in my home is Kathy got her new Toyota C-HR Koba Hybrid on Tuesday so there is a lot of time being spent on discovering what all the knobs and switches do and selecting which of the bells and whistles should be used. Lucky for me we are not having meetings or I would have been up for a Sergeants fine.
I ran into a few people while out and about on infrequent shopping and supply trips and most people seem to be coping well. The social interaction is probably the most missed aspect of pre-coronavirus life. Family get-togethers, meetings over a coffee in town or the night in the pub with mates has been a regular highlight for many people, as was the weekly fellowship at the Rotary Club. With this in mind, would there be support for an informal e-meeting? I could set up a Zoom meeting for one evening when members could join in from their computer at home, open a bottle, put out a cheese plate or beer nuts and we could have a pseudo front bar meeting. Nothing formal, just an opportunity to catch up, chew the fat and tell a few yarns. Let me know if you think this is worth doing.
Self-isolation can be stressful on some families, I heard about one family after a month in lockdown when the little boy said, “Mummy, was I adopted?” Mum said “ Not yet dear, but we only put the ad in yesterday.”
