Last Monday the District eConnections meeting had presentations from two  Exchange Students telling us about their experiences and highlighting their home towns. A very interesting presentation from the two young ladies. The next eConnections on Monday 25th May 6:30 pm will feature DGE David Jones telling us about Preparing for District 9510 It should be an interesting evening.

I was pleased to hear from Don Farley that Jimmy Millar is doing well, currently in Freeling Respite care. With these difficult, isolating times it would be easy for someone who is not doing so well to get missed. If you do know of anyone living alone, a phone call to say “How are you” could make someone happy to hear a friendly voice.

Something to bring a smile to your face…….

A WOMAN was flying from Melbourne to Brisbane. Unexpectedly, the plane was diverted to Sydney. The flight attendant explained that there would be a delay, and if the passengers wanted to get off the aircraft the plane would re-board in 50 minutes.

Everybody got off the plane except one lady who was blind. A man had noticed her as he walked by and could tell the lady was blind because her Seeing Eye Dog lay quietly underneath the seats in front of her throughout the entire flight. He could also tell she had flown this very flight before because the pilot approached her, and calling her by name, said, 'Kathy, we are in Sydney for almost an hour. Would you like to get off and stretch your legs?'

The blind lady replied, 'No thanks, but maybe Max would like to stretch his legs.'

Picture this:

All the people in the gate area came to a complete standstill when they looked up and saw the pilot walk off the plane with a Seeing Eye dog! The pilot was even wearing sunglasses. People scattered. They not only tried to change planes, but they were trying to change airlines! True story...

Change over board meeting - 28 May

It was decided at last night's Zoom meeting that next week's board meeting would be opened firstly as a general meeting for a short time, say 10 minutes, if anyone had a burning issue to raise.  The board meeting would commence straight after but Rotarians, as always, are welcome to stay online and watch as they please.

    Coronavirus Bulletin Board

The Club meetings provided lots of Fellowship, allowing everybody to catch up with what everybody else had been doing. In an attempt to keep some of that fellowship going, I ask members to submit information, anecdotes, gossip or jokes so that we can use the Bulletin to keep in touch with each other.
