Quote of the Month
We need to proclaim to every Rotarian that Rotary is what Rotary does. And without his or her involvement, it is nothing.

                       PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

We had a very constructive Airshow meeting last night. There was a detailed analysis of the number of people that will be required to ensure the event goes perfectly and we now have a clear objective for the staffing of the event.

Lots of interest for the Airshow has been shown on the Facebook page with indications from many interstate and intrastate people wanting to fly in. The Airside events are generating lots of enquires from pilots wanting to participate and have sparked much talk in the flying community.

The stalls and static displays have progressed well with contacts made to provide many aircraft and family-based interests in the event so that there will be something for everyone on the day.

Promotional material is being developed for use in gaining sponsorship, volunteers, stalls and static displays. An Instagram account has been set up and development of the web page is in progress. Email addresses have been created to assist communication with the general public and will give direct access to specific areas of the management team

The catering for the event is well in hand with a range of food and drink options identified. A critical part of the catering is to ensure there are no double-ups and that the suppliers will be not for profit community-based organisations wherever possible.

There was some discussion on the impact of the pandemic which resulted in a decision to start preparing a submission to apply for a permit to hold an outdoor event just in case the restrictions still exist in April.

The meeting went on a little longer than planned but the outcome was so good that everyone felt the time was well spent.

.       WILDWOOD SANCTUARY
A fellowship day was held at the Sanctuary on Sunday November 1st 2020, with a good turnout of twenty adults and seven children. Those attending haver commented that it was very interesting to get an insight into how the owners Sally and David combat all of the difficulties in running the Sanctuary. It's a heck of a job with no subsidies from any level of Government. Sally and David were very grateful to receive so much food. Our members contributed tissues, bleach, laundry liquid and cash. In addition we also purchased 140kgs of carrots, 20kgs of rabbit pellets, 40kgs of kangaroo pellets, 12kgs laundry powder and 5kgs of Di-Vetelact milk formula at a cost of around $300. Sandie loaded the lot into her car and stated no wonder the engine was sluggish through the hills on the way to Cambrai. On behalf of those who attended a special thanks to Gawler Stock feeds for looking after the club with the price of the foods.
It was obviously a very enjoyable day for those who could attend and maybe the club could organise another visit next year.
Details provided by Sandie Simons.
