                        President's Message

After conversations with some of the Board members, we decided not to hold a Zoom meeting this week as there were some committee meetings organised for Thursday. We usually only get a dozen or so members at Zoom meetings and several of the regulars would be at committee meetings.

We will be having a Hat Day to support the Rotary Mental Health Month of October at the next Clubhouse meeting, Bill Simons is preparing details for everybody.

The Air show committee has decided that they prefer to meet on a Thursday, once a month for the time being, on the 2nd Thursday of the month. This would mean that club meetings will be on the 1st and 3rd Thursday, Airshow on the 2nd Thursday and Board meetings on the 4th Thursday. This proposal will go to the Board at the next Board meeting.

While talking about the Airshow, Peter Sich has decided he does not want to be part of the organising committee but is happy to remain as a supporter and adviser to Peter Perkins, the Catering organiser.
The Workforce managers, Keith Adams and Sue Graetz are making a big push to get the number of people that will be required on the day organised. We will need a lot of people and will be recruiting from various areas as soon as we know how many of our Members, Friends and their family and friends can assist us. Round up as many of your friends and acquaintances as you can to help on the day.

Three major projects have been identified as major recipients of funds raised by the Airshow.
1) Replacing the Barossa Area Fund Raiser for Cancer Car used in the Barossa to assist cancer victims to get to treatment.
2) Supporting the Homeless Barossan youth project which will assist homelessness and mental health problems.
3) Supporting our Barossa Valley Rotary Club Inc. Foundation which assists Barossa youth in many ways.
There is still room for more projects, so if you know of a suitable worthy cause, fill in the form from Secretary Sandy and get it back to her as soon as you can.

                  Driver Reviver Weekend
Thank you to Rotarians Peter Perkins and John Little for spending a couple of hours serving those stopping for a rest as they were journeying towards a long weekend break. The Lions Club of Angaston has reported back saying that it was the busiest Driver Reviver weekend on record with 194 stops.  Donations amounted to a net $132.40.

                              Wine Sales

Please support (if you are able)the wine sale that was circulated at last week's meeting. Net Proceeds will benefit Australian Rotary Health and its great work with Mental health. Some very good wine awaits your purchase on the order form. You can mix a dozen with two lots of six. Perhaps a little more expensive than Dan Murphy's but you'll know that the profit will be ' 'Supporting Healthier Minds, Bodies and Communities Through Research, Awareness and Education.'  Bring your order to next week's meeting the 15th of October.
