PLEASE REMEMBER TO ADVISE MARIE ROTHE OF APOLOGIES (MEMBERS) AND ATTENDANCES (FRIENDS/PARTNERS) EACH WEEK (Mob:  0411 524 156)
To all Members of the Rotary Club of Barossa Valley,

It is our duty of care as a Rotary Club to ensure we do all we can to protect the health and well-being of our members.
Therefore, at a Special Board meeting last Thursday the Board decided that, due to the spread of COVID-19 and the risks to our membership, we will suspend our Club's weekly general meetings, effective immediately, through to the end of May. The Board will meet in the first week of June to determine further action. The minutes of that special meeting are attached.
This decision had not been taken lightly or without considerable discussion, and events and announcements since that meeting have given further reassurance that the right decision had been made. We also have received support for this decision from our Club member Dr David Adams, per his email yesterday to President Keith Millington, and included in the latest email from Sandie Simons.
Bryce Lillecrapp and Peter Perkins had suggested that an alternative to Club meetings could be a social get together every Thursday in the Clubhouse dining room. However with the closure of the Clubhouse, this is no longer an option.
These are challenging times, and it is important that we support each other, even with just a brief telephone call. If you need assistance at any time, please reach out to your fellow Rotarians.
And please take all precautions to ensure your own safety and that of your family and friends.

Letter from Don Farley Re Great Revival Shop

Please advise the club members that this morning we had a meeting at the G.R.S of some committee and shop volunteers deciding that in the  best interest of the volunteers' health etc, the shop will close today until further notice. Both G.R.S and Truro sorting teams will carry on sorting at the shed, so the Rotary members who are rostered to clear the bins in each town are asked to please keep doing that to avoid a mess accumulating around each bin.

Thanks and regards,
Don
             Letter from your Bulletin Editor

On a sad note, this will be my last 'proper' bulletin for a while until some sense of certainty returns to our Rotarian lives.  As you would all know by now, having received an email from Sandie Simons, meetings are now suspended indefinitely due to the COVID-19 virus.

These are worrying times such as we've never seen the like of before.  I think all we can do is watch for governmental updates and listen to and trust our Prime Minister and obey their directions.  So no nightclubbing, Rotarians!

I will continue to do the bulletin.  Since there won't be much to put in it, I thought we could adapt it as a sort of bulletin board.  If you have anything of interest you would like to share, please email it to me and I will include it.

It goes without saying that if anyone needs assistance, groceries, TOILET PAPER please also contact your fellow Rotarians so something can be arranged.  If you are feeling lonely or isolated, pick up the phone and call each other, heaven knows we won't have much else to do soon!

Stay safe one and all and see you on the other side of this catastrophe.
