As Rotarians, our responsibility is to identify with the truth and to communicate and share with others our achievements and objectives. The image of Rotary in a community will be strengthened if the Rotary club is viewed as a dynamic group of men and women who are eager to serve others with an ethical approach to life. That image, however, will be strengthened even more if the club's major projects are publicized and promoted in areas where they are carried out.

The Importance of Growing Our Club
With less than two weeks until our incredible fundraiser and Airshow, excitement is in the air! Our hardworking committee is doing everything possible to make this event bigger and better than ever, and we’re grateful for all the support from our members.
This event is not just about raising funds—it’s also a prime opportunity to showcase the Barossa Rotary Club and attract new members. Growth is essential to keeping our club strong and ensuring we can continue making a meaningful impact in the community. The more hands we have, the more we can achieve!
Each of us plays a role in sharing what Rotary is all about. By showing our enthusiasm, teamwork, and dedication, we create an inviting atmosphere that draws in like-minded people. In recent weeks, we’ve seen how a positive, welcoming attitude naturally attracts new members—let’s keep that momentum going!
Now, if you’ll excuse me, there are pegs to knock in, planes and pilots to chase down, and just a little work to squeeze in between.
Blue skies, fluffy white clouds, and a gentle breeze from the West.

GUEST SPEAKERS Meeting 3346
Unfortunately, our numbers were down. However, we listened to two speakers in Tim Mee and Maurice O'Connell covering several areas of assistance, particularly the New Dawn - Rotary Ukraine Crisis Aid project, backed by financial support via RAWCS and several clubs assisting hundreds of people who have suffered from the Russian bombing of the Odesa area. Could we ever understand why attacking and killing the young children of the Ukraine is ever going to bring about a sensible result by tearing down buildings and homes where these people have lived for all of their lives? Have the war mongers found the answers and are they satisfied with their achievements?  However, Rotary and Rotarians have come to the aid of this shocking crisis with the development of the Rotary - New Dawn Project. Maurice, from Adelaide, opened our eyes as we learned how he had become a volunteer worker in Ukraine. Through Maurice links have been established between Rotary in South Australia and Ukraine and New Dawn a Ukrainian NGO. This project provides the opportunity for Rotarians in District 9510 to directly improve the lives of Ukrainians impacted by this conflict, who are not receiving support from other aid organisations. We have partners in Ukraine and are seeing the tangible benefits of our donations. As we have always said through Rotary 'Help us to do good in our world'.
Your support for the Rotary Ukraine Projects would be much appreciated – Click on this link
Our two club members PDG Peter Thomas and Club President Steve Ahrens seen here with guest speakers Maurice O'Connell (non Rotarian) and Tim Mee (Morialta Club). Tim is also DGN for 2024-25)

A note from Tim
To President Steve - RC Barossa Valley
Also to Peter Thomas, Robert Brookes, James Dunn, Sandie Simons and Bill
Thank you for your hospitality and a most enjoyable meeting last night at the RC Barossa Valley.
It was great to discuss Rotary International Service projects, RAWCS and the Ukraine projects.
Would you mind please putting this link in your club newsletter and Facebook and send it to anyone who may want to support Rotary projects in Ukraine

Looking ahead, good luck with your Air Show this year on 6 April.  It will be a big one.

Looking forward to seeing Barossa members at PELDs and District Assembly(DA) 29 & 30 March
DA is a great Rotary information & learning day for all Rotarians, new or experienced or anyone who wants to meet members from other clubs.  Please promote this to your members.

Also to note, the donation to Polio Plus is a great idea by your club for guest speakers.

Best regards  Tim  (and Maurice)

New Hospital for the Barossa.
Keith M. caught up with Mel Siri from The Leader today and he was telling her about the Airshow on April 6th.
Mel asked him if we could spread the news about the petition to support the hospital. Voters need to use the QR Code below to get to the petition. If you wish to vote please note that the petition closes on March 31st.

Sound advice if you understand it.

The CLOTHING BIN at Tanunda has MOVED
Rotarians David West and James Dunn moved the bin (at the request of shop tenants) to the car park at the rear of THE HUB.  Enter off BUSHMAN STREET.
The easier access, using the car park, for people depositing bags of clothes, and Rotarians moving contents, will be safer and more convenient.
Pass the message on please.
The Tanunda Rotary Clothing Bin has found a new home and is
more easily accessible.
