Oh lord and giver of all good, we praise thee for our daily food.
May Rotary Friends and Rotary ways help us to serve thee all our days.
Guest Speaker
PDG Doug Layng and PDG Ed King visited us to talk about progressing the Uganda Dental Project. The process was outlined and the required steps defined so that the Global Grant will go ahead. Gavin Sidhu and Peter Thomas have this well in hand.
Due to many reasons, DG Jane Owens could not attend so Doug became our Guest Speaker, telling us about the Rotary Foundation, how it works and what the Foundation can do for us.

New Bulletin Editor
The good news (for me at least) is that Roxanne is back from her well earned R&R so that she will be fresh and refreshed to take over the Bulletin.
I have done a bare-bones basic Bulletin just to keep this very important communication tool in use. It will take some time for Roxanne to get used to the Bulletin system and to explore the range of options it has so please be patient with us while the Bulletin is developed to its full potential'
District Grants
Some of the information given by PDG Doug Layng was about District Grants. A club can apply for a District Grant to assist with funding a club project. The application for a grant for this year will close on August 23 so it is too late apply now. A District Grant for next year is still an option. There are guidelines for what is regarded as a suitable project so we will need to comply with them, the guidelines are available on the My Rotary web site.
Are there any ideas for a club, multi-club or a Group 9 project?
Please talk to me or your Team Leader if you can come up with a suitable project. We have donated to the Foundation in the past, so we could be in the running for a District Grant to help with a suitable project.
Quiz Night for the Uganda Dental Project
Don't forget to register with Gavin Sidhu for the Quiz Night on 10th August. It is $10 per person in groups of 8 per table.
Lots of prizes and surprises for the evening which will be a test of your general knowledge for the quiz, your luck for the spot prizes and the depth of your pocket for the auctions.
The Venue is the Clubhouse but as the Management has given us the room for free, there will be Bar Service only, no Bring Your Own. Call or email Gavin, or book on the club Website through the Events option.
A great fellowship, socialising and entertaining evening that will generate funds for a very worthy cause.
